Design & Installation

  • Both interior and exterior installations are part of Bloom Tour. Reimbursement amounts differ based on type (see the funding section below). The type of installation will depend on your matched venue and the collaborative design you develop together.

Past installations have included dramatic storefront arches, window displays, interior floral features, and sculptural botanical pieces. There's real creative room here as Bloom Tour celebrates unique, unexpected approaches to floral art, not just conventional arrangements

  • Final designs are to be determined and confirmed with your matched venue.

Organizers strongly recommend starting the creative conversation with your venue partner as soon as your match is confirmed. 4 weeks goes quickly when materials need to be sourced. Your final design should reflect input from both you and your venue.

  • Installations must be fully in place by 11:00 a.m. on opening day (May 21) for the Kickoff Party.

Removal takes place June 9th through 10th, coordinated directly with your venue partner. You're responsible for removing your work during this window.

  • Yes. If a venue wants a larger installation, more expensive flowers, or weekly flower changes beyond what the base reimbursement covers, that's absolutely possible, but the additional costs would be covered by the venue directly, not by the program.

If you and your venue want to explore upgrades, you can discuss this directly once you're paired. This is an opportunity for you to offer premium services beyond the base scope.

Funding & Reimbursement

  • Downtown Portland Clean & Safe provides the following reimbursements

    • Exterior installations: $1,500

    • Interior installations: $850

Reimbursement details, timing, and requirements will be spelled out in your MOU once you're selected.

  • Bloom Tour is produced by the Visit Downtown Campaign (Downtown Portland Clean & Safe / Portland Metro Chamber). Sponsors for 2026 include Travel Oregon, Travel Portland, and the PNW Florist Association.

Events & Promotion

  • Bloom Tour 2026 includes several special events alongside the installations.

Kickoff Party & Botanical Couture Fashion Show, the opening-day celebration at Director Park. Don't miss it!

Wine Walk, a ticketed event bringing together winemakers and downtown venues (optional participation)

As an artist, you're encouraged to attend and participate in events to connect with visitors and showcase your work. Some events may offer opportunities for swag bags or promotional tie-ins, details will be shared closer to the event.

  • Participating artists are featured across multiple channels:

    • Bloom Tour website (bloomtourpdx.com) — artist socials, photos, and venue pairings

    • Printed brochure & map — distributed across Downtown Portland during the event

    • Social media — paid, organic, and influencer campaigns with the hashtag #BloomTourPDX26

    • Media outreach — press pitching generates editorial coverage (OregonLive and others covered Bloom Tour 2025)

You'll also receive a Social Media Toolkit with graphics, logos, copy templates, and hashtags so you can share your own work across your channels.

  • The campaign hashtag is #BloomTourPDX. You'll receive a full Social Media Toolkit a few weeks before the event opens, which will include logos, ad graphics, title lockups, and suggested copy for Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms.

Organizers encourage all participants to actively post about their installation and share the event with their own audiences, the more everyone shares, the greater the collective reach!
